The Shimano SM-BH90 is a high-performance hydraulic disc brake hose, known for its stiff, reinforced construction and narrower 2.1mm internal bore for better power & feel, used across many Shimano MTB (XTR, XT, SLX) and Road (Dura-Ace, Ultegra, 105) groupsets, differing from the older BH59 by having different, non-interchangeable barbs but identical olives, and coming in various models (JK, SBM, SS) for different lever/caliper connections (straight or banjo)

BH90 vs. BH59

• Barbs: Different internal diameters mean BH90 (silver barb) and BH59 (gold barb) barbs are not interchangeable, despite same outer diameter.
• Olives: Olives are the same for both hoses.
• Performance: BH90 offers better power due to its narrower bore
