DC-DC Converters: 12V 20W, 6V 10W, 5V 10W

Built locally by the Renaissance Bicycle Company these converters are the best way to tap into your large e-bike battery pack in order to power auxiliary devices, from bike lights to cell phones to GPS units. The converters below are all fully moulded in an epoxy casing and are designed to operate with 24 to 48V battery packs.

12V 20W $75.00
6V 10W $55.00
5V 10W $45.00

All of the converters are supplied with their output lead terminated with an inline 2.5mm DC power plug, and the mating jack for this is provided as well. The input leads are bare, not terminated wires for custom connecting to your system.
Inline connectors to be supplied and installed by us.  The price is $6.00 for 45 amp rated Anderson Power Pole connectors or 45 amp rated Trailer Hitch connectors.

Please note two things:
First is that these DC-DC converter modules are not isolated, they share the same ground as your battery pack, so you cannot for instance series connect two 5V converters to generate a 10V output. Secondly, the converter can get fairly hot in use, especially when used at the full output power. This is normal but it is advisable that the converter be mounted outside on the bike frame for good air circulation. The heat is because of the highly robust design applied here: there are diodes inside the circuit to protect against reverse voltage polarity, and to protect against accidentally connecting the output to the input, and these protection diodes are responsible for most of this heat generation.
